St Peter & St Paul offers a broad range of academic and vocational courses (AS / A2; BTEC; OCR Nationals; Construction Level 2).Some of our courses are offered in partnership with Branston Community Academy and with The Priory City of Lincoln Academy.

Any student who has not achieved a Grade 4 in English and Maths will be expected to follow a course in order to re-sit these examinations.

All students in our Sixth Form will continue to study a Religious Education course (for 1 lesson a week) that could lead to earning additional UCAS points.

Level 2 Qualifications

Level 2 students will be provided with a timetable for the week based upon the areas of interest that they have indicated on their application form. Like any other course the number of students who express an interest in studying any of the particular Level 2 courses will determine whether or not the course will be delivered. A typical Level 2 timetable may look as follows:

Latest changes to AS / A2 Qualifications and Level 3 BTEC Qualifications

AS / A2: Please be aware that, with the exception of Mathematics, AS qualifications have now been ‘decoupled’ from the A2 qualification. This means that the AS examination(s) you take at the end of Year 12 will result in a qualification in it’s own right. If you continue studying a subject into Year 13 you must be aware that the AS qualification you gained in Year 12 will NOT contribute to your final grade and you will have to sit this examination again in Year 13 as well as sitting your A2 examinations. This is

something your teacher will discuss with you at the start of your course. Mathematics is the only AS / A2 course where your AS grades / marks will be carried through and added to your Year 13 grades / marks.

Level 3 BTEC: All Level 3 BTEC courses offered at our Sixth Form now contain both coursework and external examination components. Please speak to the Subject Leaders about the weighting of these components.
